Hygge is a Danish word that describes a sense of coziness and the contentment of being all snuggled up. Hygge is a core part of Danish lifestyle during harsh, dark winter months and has become a popular concept in western culture. Hygge is about relaxing and being comfortable at home. 

This grab & go kit can help you create a little hygge atmosphere in your home. Kit includes: Hygge information sheet, 3 coloring sheets, 1 Hot Chocolate packet, 1 English Breakfast Tea packet, a DIY woven coaster craft kit (instructions, four 2 yard wraps of colored cotton yarn, one 7 yard wrap of white cotton yarn, a paperclip and 5x7 cardboard loom), and two Memphis Public Library bookmarks.

Find Your Voice, Songwriting Workshop

What makes a song catchy and memorable? Why do some songs become one-hit wonders while others define an entire generation? When writing a song, is it better to start with the lyrics or the melody? What is the best thing to do when you have writer’s block? We will discuss these questions and more at the Find Your Voice Songwriting Workshop. 


Facilitated by local songwriter Justin Williams, this workshop is for anyone who has an interest in learning and practicing the craft of songwriting.


Note: This class will be a combination of discussion and creative writing, so bring a pen and paper. No instrument required.
