Join us for a Computer Basics with Microsoft Windows 10.  This operating system for Windows offers a array of enhancements and functionality in an easy to use interface.  The training teaches the most basic skills needed to operate a Library computer:

  • Using a mouse
  • Knowing certain terminology like Desktop, Icons, Menu, Taskbar, Toolbar, etc.
  • Opening a program
  • Saving a document

This class is intended for beginners and assumes no prior knowledge of computer use. It is a good introduction to other computer classes offered by the Library.

Dungeons & Dragons Mini-Campaign: "Session 0"

This will be our preparation session, otherwise known as a "session 0" for a four part mini-campaign of Dungeons & Dragons for players 13 and older. In this session we will help individual players prepare their characters for the first part of this adventure, and draft a schedule for the campaign. This campaign will be new player friendly and all characters will begin at level 1. 

Space will be limited so be sure to register ASAP!

**This will be an in-person event on the 2nd floor for the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library Room 220.**

Find Your Voice, Songwriting Workshop

What makes a song catchy and memorable? Why do some songs become one-hit wonders while others define an entire generation? When writing a song, is it better to start with the lyrics or the melody? What is the best thing to do when you have writer’s block? We will discuss these questions and more at the Find Your Voice Songwriting Workshop. 


Facilitated by local songwriter Justin Williams, this workshop is for anyone who has an interest in learning and practicing the craft of songwriting.


Note: This class will be a combination of discussion and creative writing, so bring a pen and paper. No instrument required.
