On this day, we celebrate the resilient human spirit that conquers all obstacles with hope and perseverance. It is also a day to celebrate movements and important landmarks in human history that have made the world a better place for us all. This is also a great day to celebrate personal victories that you have achieved after overcoming challenging obstacles. When you check out a book related to HOPE or INPIRATIONAL you will receive a goodie bag.

Juneteenth was recognized as a Federal holiday on June 17, 2021. Let's celebrate freedom together here at the South Branch Theater. Juneteenth is about celebrating freedom what better film to watch than Just Mercy starring Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx. The film is based on a true story about a Black man named Walter McMillian (Jamie Foxx), known as Johnny D, was wrongly convicted and sentenced to death. for the murder of a white teenage girl in Monroeville, Alabama. Young lawyer, Bryan Stevenson (Michael B. Jordan), the man who founded America's Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), and who fought for the truth to come out.
