Join us at Randolph Library for Dixon Gallery's Art To Grow program!

This program will feature art from The Living Collection about Mushrooms!

The Dixon's Description: Students will discuss the life cycle and physical traits of the mushroom and learn about a special species of bioluminescent mushrooms. After discussion, students will use glow in the dark polymer clay to create their own low- relief mushroom sculpture. Once their mushroom is complete, students will turn their sculpture in to the instructor for baking. While their piece is baking, students will paint their chip board with paint sticks to look like the night sky, including glow in the dark paint for stars. Students will also use green construction paper to cut a fringe for their grass. Once the mushroom sculptures are finished baking, students will be called up on at a time to have their sculpture hot glued to their chipboard. Once everyone’s piece is complete, we will turn off the lights and see everyone’s artwork glow!
