Teen Innovation Center Grand Opening

Teen Innovation Centers are teen areas in the library that will focus on STEAM learning, creative arts, performing arts, and anything else the teens make it.

The unique thing about the TICs is that it is being created with teen input. We had focus groups with the young adults to get their input. Some of the things in the centers will include 3D pens, video gaming, computer technology, etc.

R.E.A.D.

Poplar-White Station Library will host the West Tennessee Therapy Dogs and their program “Reading Education Assistance Dogs” (R.E.A.D.). Through this program, kids will improve their reading skills by using registered pet partner therapy teams as literacy mentors. After four 15-minute sessions of the R.E.A.D. program, readers are rewarded a 'pawtographed' book of their own, thanks to the Friends of the Poplar-White Station Library. Registration is required. After you register, a librarian will be in touch about assigning a fifteen minute time slot between 3:45 and 4:45. We can't wait to read with you!
