Hispanic Heritage Month: Folktales and Traditions

Friendly neighborhood librarian Melissa will provide a sampling of folktales and histories of Latinx Cultures and tales from around the world. R.E.A.D.

Poplar-White Station Library will host the West Tennessee Therapy Dogs and their program “Reading Education Assistance Dogs” (R.E.A.D.). Through this program, kids will improve their reading skills by using registered pet partner therapy teams as literacy mentors. After four 15-minute sessions of the R.E.A.D. program, readers are rewarded a 'pawtographed' book of their own, thanks to the Friends of the Poplar-White Station Library. Registration is required.

Come and join us for a night of crafts and relaxation. This month we'll be making "spooky jars" to decorate for Halloween while enjoying our themed drink for the month : apple cider! Other light refreshments will also be provided so come on in and enjoy a snack while you distract yourself from the busy work week with a fun craft. Children and Teens are also welcomed to stop in and join the fun.  
Don't forget to drop your suggestions for next month's craft and drink to your librarian!

Get the most out of your Google account with this free Google Drive basics workshop.  Learn how to upload and download files and pictures, organize your files, access word application programs, and much more!  This is a free workshop open to anyone willing to grow with their Google accounts. 
 Registration is required (either online or by phone) as well as a having an accessible Google (Gmail) account.  For those interested who do not have a Gmail account, please arrive 10-15 minutes before the workshop begins to sign up.
